FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When will I get my tea?
You will get your tea each autumn, after the season, approximately in November. The first shipment will get to you in November 2022.
What kind of tea will I get?
You get to choose what teas you would like to receive. However, please bear in mind, that during the first couple of seasons the amounts are rather small and we can’t guarantee that each person can choose a specific tea, as it will not be possible to produce the full selection of our teas from the recently rehabilitated plot.
How much tea will I get in 2022?
You will get half of the produce of your garden. We estimate, that in 2022 the total harvest from one 125 square meter garden will be about 300 grams, which means you will get 150-200 g of tea in November 2022. While the estimates are done based on our best knowledge, we can’t guarantee that these amounts are 100% correct.
How much tea will I get in 5 years?
You will get half of the produce of your garden. Once the bushes are matured, then most years the total harvest would be 4-5 kg of ready-made tea. So, for example, in the autumn of 2026, our best guess is, that you will get ca 2-2,5 kg of tea. While the estimates are done based on our existing knowledge, we can’t guarantee that these amounts are 100% correct. As the weather conditions differ each year the total quantity of the tea can be different even when tea bushes are matured.
For how long do I get tea from my garden?
The last tea would be shipped to you in November 2044.
Do I need to pay anything else during those years?
There is a one-time fee which you pay now and then you pay only for the shipping costs from our EU warehouse (in Estonia) to your indicated address. If due to your country’s legislation additional taxes or other fees apply on arrival, then these are up to you to cover.
Do I need to come and do something in my garden?
No, we will take care of the garden and produce the teas for you as well. But you can always come and help if you would like to ;)
How much is the shipment fee?
The shipping fee depends on your shipping country and the amount of tea that you get. Therefore, the fees will rise as the quantities get bigger, but we do our best to get the prices as low as possible with our transport partners.
For the first years the preliminary shipping fees are:
- International shipping with Omniva/National Post: 18 EUR, delivery time 10-12 business days;
- International shipping with Fedex: starting from 23 EUR, delivery time 4-7 business days;
- European Union (excluding Baltic states) with Omniva/National Post - 15 EUR, delivery time 5-7 business days;
- European Union (excluding Baltic states) with Fedex - from 17 EUR, delivery time 3-5 business days;
- Estonia - 3,2 EUR, delivery time 2-3 days
- Latvia - 4,20 EUR, delivery time 3-4 days
- Lithuania - 4,6 EUR, delivery time 3-4 days
- Georgia - 12 GEL, delivery time 2-3 days
If due to your country’s legislation additional taxes or other fees apply, then these are up to you to cover.
Do you ship to my country?
Yes! We ship worldwide.
Do I need to do anything else to receive my teas each autumn?
To receive your teas, you should register the shipment in our e-shop each autumn before we start sending packages out. The registration is necessary for paying the shipping fee and also for us to have your latest and correct address. We will explain the whole process to you in detail, there is nothing too complicated.
The prices are in Euros, if I buy from a country with a different currency, how much do I have to pay extra?
The currency exchange fee is presented when you make the payment via Paypal. This can be also removed and then the exchange fee will be set by your home bank rates.
Why do you send the parcels from Estonia?
We send from Estonia, so people buying in the EU would not have to deal with customs clearance themselves. We did that for you already :) And some of us also live in Estonia during the winter, so it’s easier to send from here ;)
What if there is a natural disaster?
If there is a natural disaster or any other Force Majeure that affects the harvest, then whatever harvest there will be, you will still get half of the produce from your garden. In case the plantation is completely destroyed due to Force Majeure, we will make an effort to provide you with an alternative garden of similar size and productivity in any other of our plantations. However, should we be unable to provide an alternative garden, you will not have the right to ask for a refund of the fee.
What happens if the rental agreement between Renegade Tea Estate and the government is terminated?
In case the rent agreement for the plantation is terminated before its term due to our fault or initiative, we will transfer the garden to one of our other plantations, on the condition that the size of the garden will not be reduced as a result. If we are unable to provide an alternative, then you have the right to ask for a partial refund from the originally paid fee that is proportional with the years left until the end of the estimated term of 25 years (e.g. If the rental agreement is terminated due to our fault in 2031 and we are unable to provide you with an alternative Garden, then you have the right to ask for a refund in the amount of 15/25 of the Fee).
Can I come and visit my garden?
Yes, you get a lifetime pass to visit your garden and the rest of the Renegade Tea Estate for free!
Will I legally own the land?
No, LLC Renegade Tea rents the lands from the Government of Georgia and therefore does not own the land. We do not sell the land to you, but you become a sponsor of the garden. You will not have any legal rights as the owner of the land.
